Following his official resumption on Monday, when he was hosted to a welcome party and embarked on tour of the offices within the secretariat, Omoba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Tuesday, embarked on tour of important sectors of the council when he went working tour of primary schools and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) within his council.
The tour which was designed to familiarize the new administration with the state of these facilities and know what interventions will be needed to make it conform with his campaign promises, saw the team visiting Baiyeku Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Igbogbo PHC.

Also, the team comprising the Vice Chairman, Barr. Ade Ayeni, Council Manager, Council Engineer, and Heads of relevant Departments, visited Local Government Primary School, Baiyeku, U.A.M.C (Eleja) Primary School, Igbogbo, Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo and Ansar – Ud – Deen Primary School, Igbogbo.
Speaking with our reporter at the end of the tour, Omoba Aroyewun said that the exercise was to assess the facilities and give necessary intervention where needed.

“The purpose of the tour was to conduct an on-the-ground assessment of these facilities, with a focus on infrastructure, safety, functionality, and overall service conditions.
“This field-based evaluation forms part of the administration’s broader commitment to responsible governance, evidence-driven planning, and timely intervention in sectors vital to the welfare of residents.”
He assured that the tour which aimed at effective service delivery to the citizens will be a continuous one.

“This is a continuous exercise to assess the situation of things across board and to know the intervention we can do now to improve the standard of living of people meaningfully.
“The administration remains focused on advancing a service-oriented agenda that reflects the needs and aspirations of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku community,” Aroyewun said.
The Executive Chairman acknowledged the efforts of the government officials at schools and PHCs that were visited and assured that actionable steps would follow as the outcomes of the visit.

At the Baiyeku PHC, where nursing mothers welcome the chairman and his team, they were conducted around by management staff to see the state of the health facilities and challenges requiring the council’s attention.
At the LG Primary School, where the Head Teacher of the school, Mr Akinyemi Alade and members of his staff welcomed the team, it was noticed that part of the main structure’s roof had been blown off by the wind. The school administrator also complained about challenges of water in the premises.

Structural defect was noticed on the adjoining MDG structure within the school.
The next point of call was the Igbogbo PHC where the team went round the facilities before it headed to the U.A.M.C (Eleja) also in Igbogbo, where the roof of the main building (which has been calling for the council’s attention for months) was inspected along with other sections of the school.
At the Methodist Primary School, which incidentally the LCDA chairman attended for his primary education, the school head teacher complained of over populated classes. A.U.D Primary School, Igbogbo, was the last point of call for the tour.
